Frida Kahlo (1907 – 1954) painted legendary works as a woman, as a woman, and as a revolutionary. Her work chronicled a like of pain, both physical and emotions, a tumultuous marriage to acclaimed artist Diego Rivera, and a fevant political revolt. Of her over 200 paintings, fifty-five are self-prtraits, and Ms. Kahlo was the first Mexican female artist to sell a work to the Louvre Museum in Paris, her The Frame.
